In your opinion, what was the most unimportant event of 2008 that received wide media attention?

I was walking around a local supermarket when I saw the front of a national newpaper (The Daily Mirror) which hosted the entire front page to the following headline and story.

Bearing in mind the state of the country (UK) and the world.....

"Paul O'Grady bitten by a snake"

Now, for those not familiar see above link.

Now in a world dominated by cprruption, war and death I was almost blown away by that one. I mean come one..........
