The Dark Knight (Possible spoilers)

So, what did people think? I personally loved it. The more I think and talk about it, the more I love it. I can't wait to see it again, although I'll probably wait till DVD. (Not really spoilers, but...) My favorite part, and a part that I think will go down in movie history is the Joker/pencil scene. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. If you haven't, I haven't ruined anything.

It was a little long, but not completely unnecessarily so. All in all, I'd give it an A. It wasn't perfect for an A+, but it was not too far off, IMO. And, what a swansong for Heath Ledger! I have to say, normally, I wouldn't want him to get the Oscar, but in this case, I'd be happy if he did.

I would give it an A+, and I am really hoping that Heath Ledger gets an Oscar for this role. He played the Joker perfectly, his mannerisms were spot on, and the voice he used.. I can't get it out of my head, very haunting... there was an article in the paper comparing him to other great villans of the past ( Darth Vader, Cruella De Ville.. among others) he belongs on that list.

Here is the article if anyone is interested :USA Today July 16, 2008 : Giving voice to the villain presents quite the acting challenge - USATODAY.com

I loved it! The Joker was a little bit more gritty than the comic book, less humor, but it fits with the universe these new Batman movies take place in. Yay!

I just saw it. Loved it. Heath Ledger definitely deserves a posthumous Oscar. His performance was so powerful, it totally overshadowed Christian Bale's as Batman. And I love Christian Bale, and think he was great, so that's saying something.

But part of me feels really guilty for loving Ledger's performance, because it's probably what contributed to his death. He threw himself so completely into the role of the villain the Joker, that it wreaked havoc on his mental and physical state. So, so sad. :(

Will I like it if I haven't really seen most of the other batman movies?? Like, will it make sense to me, or should I have seen the other ones??

Have you seen Batman Begins? That's the only one you really should see in order to fully appreciate this one. I never saw the other Batman movies either (aside from snippets). They never interested me, and most seemed kinda cheesy. But Batman Begins got me hooked. It's a fresh take on Batman, more gritty and realistic. Plus, I think Christian Bale makes one sexy Batman. :flirt:

Was Batman Begins the most recent one??

I watched the most recent one on a charter bus, but it bored me, so I fell asleep...

Yeah, Batman Begins was the most recent one.

It bored you??? Well, in that case, maybe you won't like The Dark Knight.....

But the previews look so egsciting.

Was there about an hour of nothing in the beginning of the last one?? I like it when stuff happens in movies... I think they were just talking about stuff and being boring for too long in the beginning of that movie.

The Dark Knight does start off a tad slow, but the excitement builds as the movie progresses. This Batman movie has a better villian, and that definitely raises the excitement level. ;)

Michael Keaton was the best Batman so far, but I am looking forward to seeing this one.

He was a great Batman, but he just wasn't right physically for Bruce Wayne. I would agree that he's probably the best Batman until Christian Bale, but Bale is a great Wayne, and a wonderful Batman. His voice as Batman is just classic.

What a performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker. The best villain ever. I loved it, it was classic. And I liked how they ended it. I thought Christian Bale was a better Batman than Keaton, I mean, he just looks more like Batman. The bit with the two ferries was evil genius, and it would have worked in real life.

One of the best movies I have seen in a loooong time.

Excellent, and by far the best Batman movie.

The whole theater burst out in shock and laughter during the pencil scene. Tadaaaaaa!
That was probably my favorite scene. :D

Best Batman movie, ever. As much as I enjoyed the movie though, it was also equally as sad knowing that this was Heath Ledger's last performance (well, second to last techinicaly).

This is why I say that part will go down in movie history. Everyone I've talked to brings it up almost immediately, and most say it was their favorite part.

Agreed on all accounts.

I'm pretty egscited about seeing it... I think I'll like it. Anything would be better in a movie theater than on a tiny screen on a charter bus...
