The Day of Judgment

Peace

Quran & Sunnah
I am just interested and would like to ask those who don't believe in an afterlife, what would be your reaction and feeling if you find yourself resurrected after death and brought to account in front of your Creator at the day of Judgment?

What will be your feeling like?
  • Feeling a great remorse for not preparing for the afterlife
  • Ask forgiveness from God
  • Waiting for God's mercy on you
  • Hope that you were a believer
  • Other
Peace

Is this just for people who don't believe in the afterlife at all, or also for those who don't believe it in the way that the Abrahamic faiths do?

I wasn't aware that the Abrahamic faiths had a common view of the afterlife. Certainly, our view is not only different to the Muslim one but even to that of many western Christians. I'm not quite sure where we stand with respect to Judaism but I very much doubt that it's the same.

Well, I mean I believe in an afterlife, but not in terms of a judgement day. I should really stop grouping them together like that :)

I would say for both.

If GOD pulls the "I created you" card on me, GOD will pretty much do whatever He wants with me, won't He? I do not expect mercy or forgiveness. I am not going to hope or suddenly have faith and I am not going to feel remorse for an afterlife that I have never seen a brochure or an infomercial on.

I would be very confused and probably demand (if one can demand something of God ;)) to know why I wasn't in Summerland.

The afterlife for me is a place that is always green, warm, plenty of water, trees, rocks. A place for people to gather and discuss their time on earth, what they did well, what they didn't do so well. Chances to walk with the Gods and get real feedback on their lifetime too, and also to just kick back, relax and have a good time while not having to worry about the trials and tribulations of life on Earth. We also gain back our memories of past lives in order to really view how we're doing in terms of learning lessons.

When we're ready (determined by either us, or the Gods) we are returned to earth for another crack at it. But first, the Gods take our memory of our past lives, for a reason I'm not too sure about.

So if I were to end up facing the throne of the Christian God and he was waiting for me to plead my case, I wouldn't be all too happy.

Paradise is much better than Summerland, it's better than anything you can ever imagine ;)

Given that my views of the so-called afterlife are more radical than anything posited by man's religions I feel I can answer this question as one who does not believe in the generally accepted views of said "afterlife".

I will be extremely surprised if Judgment Day arrives. At this juncture in time I consider such tales to be the delusions perpetrated by inept scoundrels.

I would not have any regrets whatsoever regarding so-called preparations for the "afterlife". Neither would I ask for forgiveness from any self-proclaimed "God". God's mercy? Um, what's he gonna do? Send me to Hellfire for eternity? LOL. Sorry, I am unafraid of man's contemptible notions of his psychopathic god concepts. I do hope that it "works out" for those who wish to believe this type of inanity.

Hope that I was a believer? Que? Peace, my "god" already knows me well. I have no worries or concerns that I may be wrong. At least I already admit it. (Pity others can’t seem to.)

Read my last post, I had just finished it :)

Yes I've just seen it;)
So I see that you do believe that you will return back to earth, but for what purpose? Is that would be another test?

I believe that our souls have a whole curriculum of lessons to be taught before we can become enlightened and forever dwell in the kingdom of the Gods. Each lifetime has a series of these lessons to the person to either overcome and conquer, or to not overcome and have to repeat said lesson. Sometimes that lesson is repeated in the same lifetime, sometimes not.

And what would you do if that's really what will happen? If you open your eyes and find yourself brought to account and thus find out that you were totally wrong ?

According to your view of the afterlife I find it a long way to run before being able to attain the eternal bliss, happiness and peace of mind.
