Does anyone have something that appears to be common sense, like how to do it is ingrained in everyone's mind in the world, but have no idea how to do it?
Well, it's been almost a year now that I've had this job on a pig farm, my first farm work ever, and I really enjoy it and coworkers seem to think I'm doing a good job - no complaints, and after the first work they told me I'm good to sign my name up for any days I want to work alone.
Then my boss asked me if I could rake rocks out of the grass as a side job at work today. Seemed simple enough. I picked up the rake and went to the grass and I then all of the sudden it hit me; I never was actually taught how to rake.
I know it sounds crazy but I seriously only raked once or twice in my entire life, usually my dad would do it when I was at school. I tried it and my boss came down eventually and he told me to stop because "there was more soil than grass" (an exaggeration mind you, and he said it mostly kindly just a little annoyed).
But yeah, it was really embarrassing and strange to find out that I didn't know how to rake. Like, who doesn't know? I have been doing farm work for almost a year just fine but I can't rake?? lol.
What about you? I mean anything at all. Trying not to feel alone here lol
