The Elisa Lam case

Anyone heard of Elisa Lam, the Chinese-Canadian girl who died in 2013 in the roof top of Cecil hotel?

There's an elevator footage of her that went viral back in the day in which she was acting weird. Some speculate that she was communicating with someone or something unseen and that her case has a paranormal angle to it.

What do you think happened?

I think it was concluded that she had a psychotic episode because she was off her meds. I watched a documentary on it. She was reacting to the voices in her head. Really sad, actually.

@RayofLight

Here's the elevator clip.

And here's the story of her mysterious death-

Yes its possible she could have just seen things that were actually not there. She was suffering from depression and was on medications but what we call hallucination today (and brush it off as mere imaginations or illusions) was considered as real visions a few hundred years ago or so. I'm a believer and have seen weird things myself, only to find out later that i wasn't the only one seeing such things.o_O

Hard to say what happened. I remember some wondering if she was being followed the way she acted.

Yes a few days before she died she was being followed by some. Who knows who they were. Random crooks trying to rob/rape a girl or someone with a sinister agenda? Guess we'll never know.

That's one of the explanations. Yes.
Some believe that voices and visions have links to the paranormal. Not sure if that was the case with her.

She had a blog too where she posted about her struggles with mental illness. She even posted while she was in that hotel. The Cecil hotel is where many suicides and murders took place in the past and has a bad reputation. Some even consider it haunted.

Few days ago I was listening to a podcast show on spotify about her case and i came to know that she had visions (people today would call it hallucinations) of her dead friend in the passageway of the hotel. I'll try and see if she really posted this on her blog or not.

Here's the link to her blog, if you guys are interested-

I heard her story from a paranormal perspective when I watched a Ghost Adventures special on the Cecil Hotel last year. Other than that, I don't know much about her or what happened to her. I'd love to investigate the location, but I doubt I'll ever have the chance.

I think it was a case of extreme paranoia. She was mentally ill.
