Skanky Old Mongrel!
The Enforcers are coming for oldbadger
In Britain we have to buy a licence (£145.50 per annum) to watch any television programmes.
Before she died, my elderly mother did not have a telly, because she could not see well enough, but one year the telly enforcers picked on her unlicensed address and started the threats. She would read their letters with her 10X lens, slowly discovering that she had ten days to pay up before the enforcers would come. She would show me these letters, 'I'm going to get fined! I haven't got a thousand pounds! I'm scared!' She was 94yrs. I wrote to the BBC HQ with no reply. I wrote to our national Old People's Charity but they did nothing. Thousands of elderly and infirm folks who don't have a telly must be put through this crap each year.
Despite buying a tv licence, this year oldbadger was chosen for the enforcement procedure. Clearly their computers don't work or they would know.
The letters started in the early spring. Each letter gets more threatening and psychological pressures intensify. Some members will be thinking 'Why doesn't stupid oldbadger just make a phone-call?' Answer: I want to see just how far these bully-boys will go ....... just how frightening are they?
The 'We have opened an investigation' letter arrived in the summer.
Late summer saw 'You will be liable to a fine of £1000 and you will still need to purchase a television licence.'
Early autumn 'Application is being made at this time for a warrant to gain entry to your premises.'
I reached the 'A hearing is set at your local Court' stage in September.
October saw two letters,. a 'We have no alternative but to....' letter and a 'You will now have to pay legal costs as well as the £1000 fine and the telly licence'.
November has seen the '10 days or else' letter and the 'full Enforcement process visit' letter.
I have just received the 'We will be coming soon after 11th December!' letter
Mrs B wants to be the one to open the door to the Enforcers and wants photographs of Enforcer's ID Cards and the office address of Enforcement manager H--es who signed all this rubbish. The Enforcers? As long as they behave we will be polite but they will have to remain outside. But the berks who drive this policy need to answer some pressing questions....... in front of the media. That is where this is going...... if not to a County Court.
