The Equal Rights Amendment...What Do You Think Of It?

There is nothing in the US Constitution that says SCOTUS decisions have to have 100% approval among citizens.
I'm only arguing that they're wrong.
The 13th & 14th Amendments to the Constitution are clear.
The draft is involuntary & it imposes servitude, therefore it is
unconstitutional per the 13th.
To apply only to some of many males also violates the 14th.

I theorize that the justices will rule against the Constitution
when they personally see a compelling need. Their own
religious beliefs will often take precedence over the law.
It's why abortion, property rights & other votes are so often
split decisions. Their fancy legal education & experience
will often be mere tools they bend to impose what they please.

That isn't the point, and you know that. White slaves were considered subhuman by their Turkic slave owners, but that is all fine and dandy to you. There is no such thing as "racism against Whites" right?

It is the point. Barr's comments were made in the context of American culture and American history, not Turkish history and Turkish culture.

Who in this thread has compared Trump to Hitler?

I said liberals. I wasn't talking about the thread. Is this how you debate, by deliberately throwing what people say out of context?

We weren't talking about Barr. You attempted to negate my point that slurs against Whites are just as racist as those against Blacks by bringing up persecution to Blacks in the south, which was irrelevant to slurs. I wasn't even talking about Barr. I was implying that slavery and racism to Whites was just as evil as it was done to Blacks, which you negated by saying "We're not in Turkey", implying that it doesn't matter. So your statement was openly racist, which makes you a hypocrite for complaining about what Barr said.

So says the person who is bringing Turkish history to bear.

We are talking about American culture and history, not Turkish culture and history. We are talking about racism IN AMERICA. Do you know why blond jokes don't carry the same racist baggage? Because of American history.

I'm talking about racism in general, and I brought up Turkic history to support my argument about slavery which wasn't even my main point.

The fact that you only want to realize racism in America and ignore where it happens everywhere else and anyone else (like in the UK and South Africa to Whites) then it indicates your hatred, due to your belief that racism can only and only ever happened to African Americans in the entire history of the world.

The standard is different because white people aren't offended by being called an ape.
We don't feel any racial animosity from it, unlike many black folk.
I've never heard Trump complain about being compared to an orangutan.
Although I bet orangutans are fuming with disgust.
That's because it's a dog whistle used by racists towards black people. We can dig up conservative commentary on Michelle Obama for reference if you wish.

This is indefensible. And you're really wondering why black people have issues with the term directed at them? Wow.

Look towards the top of the page. You will see that we are in the North America section of the Political Debates forum. North America. We are also talking about an Equal Rights Amendment in the context of American politics. America.

There is a reason that blonds are not considered to be an at risk group for discrimination IN AMERICA. Do you know what that reason is?

So comparing a black woman to an ape has no racial connotations?

But in planet of the apes, they aren't really apes, just actors. The actors could be any colour under the masks too, in fact one of them was Charlton Heston and he was a conservative like Roseanne. This means she was paying the woman a compliment and was intending to praise her as a bastion of integrity and consistency like Mr Heston was with his pro-gun advocacy.

I get it. He's pointing out the vast double standard that is so readily applied.

U.S. Conservatives like to toss words like "socialism" and "marxism" around to refer to anything they don't like, ignoring the actual definition of the words. Imbecilic, I know.

Much like the left like to throw around terms like fascist, and Hitler. Both sides are guilty of this on their extremes.

Of course, it is because they are now the victims of institutionalized racism. In this day and age, the White straight male is the target of all the hate. It is now harder for them to get jobs. He is told he is evil because he is White by BLM, because he is straight by the LBGT community, and because he is male by feminists.

Admit it, Thermos, you are a racist. That's a fact.
