Dawson appears to me to be someone that wanted accolades and fame, but without doing the work required to get those honestly. Any real interest he had in science was overwhelmed by his baser desires.
What other frauds was he involved in? I'm not up on my Dawson history.
Thanks. Very interesting. Somebody was looking for fame and didn't care how he achieved it. Sadly, it worked, but not as planned.1891. Where Dawson supposedly found the mammal-reptile hybrid. The teeth were filed into shapes, just like when Dawson had filed chimpanzee's teeth in the Piltdown Man.
If you looked at the Wiki article on Piltdown Man, you will see other frauds that Dawson committed. The list of deception were categorized by Miles Russell.
Ok.That's quite apparent from this post.

What is even sadder, is that some creationists are still using Dawson’s Piltdown Man fraud that have long been debunked, while they ignored hundreds of thousands of valid fossils.Thanks. Would Christians today leave their faith and reject Jesus today because of the deed of one man’s action, eg Simon Magus.
Charles Dawson is just one man, and his fraudulent discovery doesn’t tear down all the evidences of evolutionary biology.
