For those of you that believe the world will be around in 100 years, which religion will have the most followers in the United States? Europe? Middle East? Pick a country if you want.

I think Islam is projected to be the most popular religion worldwide in the next 50 years.

I think Christianity will decline, but remain a major player.

Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism will probably stay about the same, though I suspect 'Western' Buddhist philosophies will rise to form new religious movements.

I think Paganism will grow.

I do not know about specific countries, but this interesting video shows the growth rate of religions from 1800-2100.
pay close attention to the end of the video.

I wonder if they know the numbers of people who really adhere to the religion's rules or do they just follow a religion because they are afraid of what happens after you die?

I'm not saying this wrong however, but what are the motivations for following a religion. That would be what I would consider more interesting and relevant.

The face of the world will be greatly changed, it may be that there will be a great deal of people that are not following any faith.

I believe there is one religion for each age and once it’s time has past it is unable to solve the problems of a newer age but becomes part of the problem.

None of the past religions have been able to establish world peace in this age. Many of them such as Judaism, Islam, Christianity and Buddhism are either involved in a current conflict or part of one as in Burma which supposedly believes in no violence. The religion is dead if there is war all over the country despite monasteries outwardly existing.

I believe that the religion for this age is Baha’i and that this religion will lead us to peace and that other religions will appear for future ages. I see all religions as part of one process of spiritually maturing humanity a bit more each time they appear so that over the ages we will eventually have a civilisation which will be both materially and spiritually balanced.

But historically, we do not know who founded Sabeanism and the Zoroastrian Faith could disappear also because of its very low membership.

I fear the Most Great Peace will be quite a few centuries away!

I never cared for Bahai. Too many religions. The ages? We don’t have much time left imo.

I think a lot of people, historically, have waged war in the name of this or that religion, but its all politics disguised. They don't give a **** about those beliefs, they just want some kind of power; either indefinite, or over some disliked 'other'.

I wouldn't say 'Buddhism is at war' or 'Christianity is at war'. I'd say some knuckleheads are at war for poor reasons.

My thought is that in 100 years here in the United Stated, the traditional way of identifying with specific religions by name will have extremely been reduced.
