On a side note i read that and to be honest i actually dont think people really undestand why exactly this is a problem. Some do but most dont. I might say noahs ark is real. We are living it right now.

That's a problem with the throwaway Society we live in today. If people would only plant a young tree to replace the old one they used, we would be well off for generations to come.

I agree with you. After being treated as ignorant for so long and having almost everything taken from them we are finally realizing that view of native American's toward the world they share with the non-human life is far superior to way the majority sees the natural world. Seeing the things we get from the natural world as a gift rather then a commodity that we can own gives a very different respect to our world. We have precious little to act before it is too late. There is so much we can learn from the Native American view of the natural world.

governments should do more for the planet that what they are doing at the moment there not doing enough to save the planet and save ourself we need here to survive i can see that some people are now heading the warning but people like trump who wants to kill everything on the planet and hunt to make money he is all about money wanting more and more he is only looking after himself and his ego he is a dangerous man who shouldn't be in power he could kill us all just by hitting the big button as long as he is safe

Deeply saddened by this. We are doing irreparable damage across the globe.

Interesting that you mention the interconnectedness of the root systems. I was reading just a few months ago about the possible consciousness of plants. They have, after all, been evolving longer than animals. We don't find brains in their tree tops, but we are perhaps looking in the wrong place. Who says the equivalent of a neural system has to even be above ground? Forests with interconnecting roots often function similar to a single organism. Of course, that's not the only way that trees communicate with each other...

There is a lot we can learn from the nations.

Even I'm disgusted by our throw-away mentality, where we just consume and discard without due consideration of replenishment concerning that which we take.

I remember the commercial way back in the seventies involving our indigenous brothers standing on a pile of garbage with a tear in his eye. We need to bring that campaign back.

I think I'm going to make a hat that says, Make America Beautiful Again.

I think it begins with being exposed to this value system as a child. This is why we need to tell our children the same stories that they tell, to pass on the same wisdom.

For your information the term gifts is a respectful term to what we receive from natural world. Much of nature is conscious or are you completely ignorant. And it is not a stupid thought! The other view is just to take from nature without any respect is the most arrogant view which will lead to the destruction of the world that supports humans. How stupid is that?
