The god of the Bible should be seeking forgiveness

i think the christians say that god is responsible for all good things, and us humans are responsible of all bad things. in orthodox christianity we are all evil sinners.
Humanity came to be able to know good and evil.

Not some. all. according to orthodox all humans inherit the first sin of adam and eve. so adam and eve made a mistake.
Those who can understand only on primitive literal level? By far not all.

Adam wasn't tricked or deceived. Next question?

Ah, blaming the woman for it all and reason for all ‘sin.’

Either way, if ‘Adam’ was literal and had ‘Christ consciousness’ as you say, he must have been pretty gullible and naive then. Rendering that kind of consciousness not very useful if that were the case.

Writing from a Christian perspective:

When it comes to judging God’s character I think there’s a distinction to be made between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament (personified by Jesus Christ) – these are two different personas of the same being

I think the God of the Old Testament did what he had to do in that era so that humankind could advance into an era with a much kinder God, for the rest of history

I believe that the NT God is more representative of God's true character

I personally am thankful to God
Remember that we're dealing with two different cultural lenses here. The God of the Hebrew texts is also a kind God. God was being written about by people with a more limited world view, and a smaller perspective of what constituted "God's kingdom." In this culture, a God who killed the enemy and smote the unrighteous was considered to be "taking care of God's people," and doing loving acts toward them. The God of the NT was from the perspective of the Pax Romana.

You "small is the gate and narrow the road"? There is no 'wholesale' salvation.
to be honest, christian evilness and goodness confuse me. oh well! but thank you for the posts! :) they made me see that the christian God is not an evildoer. ;)

so adam and eve made a mistake.
nay....
they were given a choice
they chose to know....even as death was a pending consequence

they passed that test

the garden event was intended to alter the mind and body
that alteration would take the course of Man in a new direction

the so called forbidden fruit was presented to be sure...…
Man will be that creature curious
even as death is approaching

a needed upgrade that took hold

It would be amusing, if it wasn't so sad, the excuses some are making for the disgusting behaviour attributed to the god character in the Bible.
