I can't watch the video, so I have to ask.
Is this like comparing the wizards in Lord of the Rings to the wizards in Harry Potter?

Great thread Godobeyer: Just goes to show that the Bible or the Quran can both be used for good or evil depending on the context a person chooses to use it. Hopefully both Muslim and Christian alike will focus on the good that is in our Holy books (and there is much in them that is good) and not take literally the things like cutting off hands and subjugation of women and such. You have made a very good point.Hello all

That was quite amusing, however, the vast majority of Christians do not believe the Bible is the literal word of god.Hello all

The Bible is a very different book (collection of books, actually) from the Qur'an, as well. They're not written in the same way. The Qur'an is more of a dictation and is supposed to be viewed as having come down to us straight from God, with no errors at all and it's supposed to be read as eternal commands. The Bible, however, is a collection of stories, folklore, tribal myth, poetry, aphorisms, etc. that were written over centuries. The Bible is more like the rest of the world's major religious and mythological writings. The Qur'an is in a very different category. It's like those books written by mediums that claim to be dictated to them by various sorts of entities and you just have to take their word on it.That was quite amusing, however, the vast majority of Christians do not believe the Bible is the literal word of god.
It's not hard to find a group of ignorant people, especially when you edit the video a certain way...We also don't know if any of the people in the video are Christians, regardless of their age, so being ignorant of what is in the pages of the Bible is not surprising.
I knew the people running this experiment would be pulling verses primarily from the Old Testament. The fact that the Koran and the OT sound so similar really highlight how the Koran appears to represent a regression in religious thought in comparison to the New Testament

Oddly, in my neck of the woods, I am not so sure I have met a single person in my near on 60 years who believes the Bible is the literal word o' God.Yet most Christians I've ever met strongly believe in the Bible as God's literal word and take it just as seriously as a Muslim take the Quran.
Same.Oddly, in my neck of the woods, I am not so sure I have met a single person in my near on 60 years who believes the Bible is the literal word o' God.

Hehe. What would shock me is to meet someone here who DID think the Bible was the literal world of God. People in western Canada are relatively well educated, slightly leaning to Liberalism and fairly easy going or relaxed.this shock me
To be quite honest, where I am, anyone who thought it was literally the word of god would be considered to be more than a little weird or crazy or not particularly intelligent.is really does most of Christians do believe that Bible is not word of God !!!!
The overall view is stressed that the Bible was written by men who were INSPIRED by god and wrote tales and stories around that inspiration. Again, I suppose if you looked hard enough you would find some Neanderthals who really thought it was the Literal Word of God, but most would still consider them to be weirdo's and would treat them at arms length or distance themselves from said people.so how they believing in it , edited , corrupted, not prefect ?
All sects, really, Madhuri. It must be something in the water. Are they mostly Catholic or Anglican in that area?
this shock me
