That's when cars were real cars and trunks could hold everything needed for a vacation including an outboard motor, fishing gear and many suitcases.

Heck, I think the trunk of my parents 1973 Mercury Comet (back in 1973) had more room in it than many of the small SUV running the roads today...which by the way I think I could have fit a small SUV in the trunk of my Buick...or my friends 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix
