Oh, bears....missing idioms right & left. It was 40 years or so old.
The special plug into the cooker got really hot & smelly (like burnt toast).
Sounds like a fire hazard, eh. Fortunately she had a new one still in the
box (only 10 years old) standing by in case of rice cooker emergencies.
