Yeah, well, at least you have water in those states. Even some rain now and again. We have to wear still suits and fight off attacks by giant sand worms.

Had an Aunt who lived in LV Nevada. Went to my parents house in NYS for a 2 week visit. She left to go back to Nevada, it rained in NY the next day. She told my father she was upset she missed that, she had not seen rain in 2 years

Aeons ago when it snowed on the top of Mt. Diablo (near us), we took our dog and drove as far up as we could get and then walked in the snow in an orgy of nostalgia.

But of course that was also accompanied by the knowledge we did not have to put up with it for months including shoveling and shivering.

California sometimes has the coldest and the hottest spot in the country on the same day. There's a town called Truckee which I would often come across when reading about the coldest spot for the day. Then there's Death Valley, which is often the hot spot. At least Arizona doesn't get that hot. But it's been hotter than usual, and drier than usual.

We really need more rain.

We had a tropical storm roll through here a little over a week ago, that is not normal for upstate NY, but it drop 5 inches of rain in an hour.

With that said, a friend of mine retired to New Mexico, came back for a visit complaining about a water shortage and his grass dying.....I said "You live in the middle of a freaking desert, what do you expect"

I was in San Diego at over 100 degrees on a low humidity day and that was one of the scariest hot days I had

Thunder and lightening
very very frightening

Well not really but one thunder clap was so close the dog sat straight up out of a deep sleep and I was shocked into being awake. And yes, rain as well. 2020 is the gift that keeps on giving. And I keep on winning.
