Are parts of Australia still suffering drought?

Parts of central Queensland I think. Set to get worse with El Nino forming according to the bureau of meteorology but I guess that will be good news for West Coast USA. It is surprisingly dry here at the moment, we haven't had any rain for a month and my lawn was starting to die. I can't believe it dried out so quick after almost 2 years of way above average rainfall.

Do you all have to have a lawn by code or is it just custom?

I need to be more aware of the world outside the US, but I thought with all the talk of wildfires that Australia was really being hammered with drought. But not over the entire continent I take it from what you have been experiencing.

I don't know what that means lol. By code do you mean like a local government law? If so no. It's just a custom I guess, a hangover from British days when they tried to make Australia look like England. And it's handy to play cricket on when you're a kid.

I just read a report that all but a small part of the Northern Territory has had an average of 10% higher rainfall than usual

Code isn't the right word. It is zoning laws (local government) and it just occurred to me. I couldn't think of it before and just went with what I could.

I found out that in Tucson, AZ, the zoning laws require a lawn. No wonder they use up water like it was water there. That is the goofiest government intervention. Demand lawns in a desert.

Karen said they're taking out the lawns in Vegas and replacing with more drought tolerant landscaping which makes sense.

What's the snake report look like?

See, I was under the impression that the entire country was drying up. It's good to have friends on the ground to correct my ignorance.

Snakes seem to be about average, I've seen a few people on facebook asking for a snake catcher.

You cut down on water, fuel and chemicals required to keep a freakishly absurd indulgence going. Besides, I like the natural look and low maintenance of that sort of home landscape.
