The dog is asleep like usual and Karen has caught my cold which means my life is misery for the next couple of days.

The dog doesn't get up usually until I go in the garage and get her lead.

We were going to a funeral today, it's about a 4 hour drive and I was expected to drive there sick but now she has it we're not going because she's too sick to sit in the car that long.

That would mean going to a doctor.
Nothing they can do for a broken rib.
Except warn to be careful not to let it
puncture something you want to keep.

Would broken ribs heal on their own properly?

• Ribs cannot be easily splinted or supported like other bones, so they're usually left to heal naturally. There's often no need for an X-ray. Broken or bruised ribs heal in the same way and usually get better by themselves within 3 to 6 weeks......(or you die..)
