There's a lot of bureaucratic red tape that they don't tell you about. I wrote to the Pennsylvania government to be assigned my friend from Pennsylvania, but it turns out it had a waiting list. They asked if I would accept a friend from West Virginia instead. Then it turns out they're the kind of friends who are always asking to borrow money. Or their wife throws them out and they show up at 2a looking to crash at your place. With friends like that from Pennsylvania, you don't need any enemies.
Maybe I'm better off without friends.
