This morning from the fridge..
I love waxed beans. That is what we call the yellow ones here. You may have a different name. I know of only one place locally where I can sometimes get them fresh. I have never seen them frozen and I will not eat canned vegetables, except for tomatoes and cooked hard beans.

Frozen? We grew those in Minnesota and it does get cold there. Here it is just discouragingly dismal for far too much of the year. But I probably could dig up a good bit of the backyard and plant some. I already have rhubarb growing back there.Butter beans. If you didn't live in a frozen wasteland you could grow your own.
Today they started from the fridge.Cooked bacon and eggs from the fridge? You'll find them nicer from the pan.

Oh , and here "butter beans" are another name for lima beans. Though it is usually reserved for the mature hard beans:

We call both the green immature version and the mature version "lima beans" so one has to know from context. They can be cooked very quickly like any fresh bean or pea:

And I see that you call those lima beans as well.
They are both "broad beans" but faba or fava beans (Google likes fava), either is correct, are two different species. Faba beans are an Old World bean that one can trace back to ancient Israel at least. Lima beans were first discovered in Peru, hence "lima". They do look rather similar outside of the pod, but fava beans (sorry going with Anthony Perkins, slurping noises) tend to have longer pods. Fava beans can be three times as long as lima beans. Remember my earlier photo with only three beans in the pod? Here is a fava beah:Can't say I've ever seen them but they look kinda like broad beans, I think they're called faba beans or maybe fava over there.

Plans to restore grizzly bears in Washington has people drawing a line in the sand
The intent to introduce grizzlies back into the wild of the Pacific Northwest has communities split. Depending on who you are, imagining a grizzly bear roaming the North Cascades can spur thoughts of a gentle giant or a monster foaming at the mouth. I can appreciate their concerns and wonder if this is all that good of an idea myself. Now black bears are generally not a problem, but my brother who only lives about 7 miles away from me had to chase one out of his backyard this year. It would have been hard to believe but it was caught on video a couple of different ways.It is not a bear to be trifled with and generally does not look for trouble, but does not play well with others
Why would a bureaucrat care about that difference. You all look the same.I'm a Kodiak Brown bear ya bearist.... I'm bigger...grizzlies tend to be meaner
