I was in Vegas for a conference. I have the honor of being the last chicken plucked at a cheap poker table. The pros appeared to drink a lot but didn't. They appeared to bet wildly but didn't outside of small bets to catch the unwary. They did know the cards much much better than me but was worth about $100 for hours of entertainment. But once was enough.

Sam and I tried to gamble at the local casino years ago.
We each had 20 bucks. He lost his quickly at a blackjack table, and got mad, because he said everyone cheated, they tweaked the rules, etc. I tried a couple slots, but putting money into a machine for nothing seemed... icky. I took my money to the casino bar instead. I had a much better time than Sam.

When I was there it was cheaper to sit by a slot machine and get a free drink with just a tip to the waiter/waitress. The cheapest slots were just the thing.

That's the predicted high temperature for here. It's supposed to get up in to the 90s this week. This time of year is rather pleasant, as it doesn't generally get too hot until late May or June (although there have been exceptions). But at least it's not as bad as Death Valley.

By Tuesday it's supposed to get back to winter, a 10c degree drop on today is the outlook.
Yeah, I guess you're on the same latitude as Canada, and I'm on the same latitude as Morocco. Just as hot here, except without the Marrakesh Express.
