I wouldn't know how to gamble if wanted to. I don't even play the lottery. Though I think I should.
Sam and I went to a casino once. Each had 20 bucks to spend.
I put a dollar in a machine. Won nothing. Tried again. Won nothing again. The whole thing felt 'yucky', so I took my money to the casino bar and got drunk.
Sam wasted his at the blackjack table within ten minutes, and then got enraged at the dealer(who must have been cheating).
I had an okay time, he didn't.
I had dinner at a casino in Mississippi once. We decided to look around after and I won five dollars and stopped. All in all, it was a winning night. I still have the big casino dollars somewhere.
So I guess, I do know a little about how to, but not much.
It's called "white coat" hypertension. It's the reason I take my BP at home for some days before I see a doctor. Besides I've never had one who did it the way it's recommended for a good reading: Pee. Sit quietly for 5 minutes. Have your feet flat on the floor and don't talk. Also breath quietly
I always get that mixed up. Pee quietly for 5 minutes, sit on the floor, keep your feet flat and don't breath or talk.

I had been playing a lot of 5/10/25c poker and wound up at a Vegas convention. I sat down at the cheap poker table and wound up losing $100 over several hours. I enjoyed watching the pros who pretended to be big drinkers, tossed small amounts of money in the pot as if they did not know what they were doing and plucked the chickens who sat down at the table by knowing the cards and reading the tells. I finally had a very good hand and bet heavily. Someone told me "he has it you know". I did not know but they had assumed I was a better player so I said "well, I want to see it anyway". I saw it. I lost. But it was a one time fun experience.

True. I can recall the elation that I had to suppress to stop while I was ahead. It seemed like a winning strategy.
