We have an elderly cat, Quesa, that pees on fabric if left on the floor.

Someone left a small blanket on the floor, and it met that fate.

I went to pick it up and put it in the clothes basket, and saw one of Yudhi's reading flashcards under it, also soiled. The word on it was 'me'.

I kept showing the kids "look, Quesa peed on me".

Well, Yudhi thought it was funny...

How many different rules does a company have to abide by though?

All of them that apply to the country the company is trading in. Though it could be difficult for the country to enforce it.

If Australia passes that law then the easiest solution is for RF to block Australian IPs

The only way i see around that for John would be to use a VPN to give him an IP address in another country

Maybe have the same sense of humour as Yudhi

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Well, we'll see how it all turns out, I guess.

Yes, i know both Google and Amazon were done in the UK for tax irregularities.
They thought they'd not be bound by uk law. They traded in the UK so any money's made from UK customers was taxable in the UK. They had to pay millions in back taxes

I don't know. Its an American based company, and we are required to observe US laws.

I'm not sure if this would affect us at all.

Twitter or whatever it is called now, facebook, snapchat and similar are overseas companies but the legislation will make them responsible. Musk is having a massive tantrum about it today.

The law hasn't even been passed yet so it's all conjecture.

I'm not sure how the site would handle it.

As it is, you're supposed to be 13 or older to sign up. I wonder if they'd raise the age? (That's conjecture, too.)

I'm not sure how you can verify an age. Anyone can fudge their age on the internet.

Yup, maybe I should pose the question in the ask staff anything rather than here.

And I'll write an email to my local MP to clarify if forum come under the proposed law because I'm involved in a couple of forums for the bird club. None of us have 50 million and we welcome younger people if they have parents permission.
