The Life of Adam and Eve

Here's the video on creation. Watch it if you want.

youtube.com/watch?v=KK3eh4Z5Ko4

I watched up to the 1:43 mark in which Hovind commits several huge errors and lies.

Hovind says:

Evolution is
1. a theory (It certainly has its theories, as do all facets of science, but evolution is considered to be as much a fact as the heliocentric nature of our solar system.)
2. a philosophy (Under the definition of philosophy it fails to qualify. Pure and simple )
3. a religion. (Honestly, do you see evolution having those aspects that would qualify it as a religion? If you do please share.)
We've allowed this philosophy to take over our
4. school system (gross misstatement)
5. legal system (gross misstatement)
6. whole thinking process (gross misstatement)
A philosophy that has zero scientific evidence. None. (Now, this is a bald face lie. As a science school teacher Hovind certainly knows what scientific evidence has found and has presented. That he chooses to ignore it doesn't make it go away.)
Point here is that Hovind will say anything, even to the point of lying, to sell creationism. Why? Because he can't sell it any other way. Within the very first minute of his appearance on the video he lied, misrepresented, and exaggerated the facts. Think such a person, who also goes around trying to pass himself off as a doctor, should be trusted with anything else he says? I sure don't.

And please note that creationists never try to sell creationism on its own merits, never, but invariably resort to trying to tear down evolution.

That has to be one of the most absurd interpretations of the story of Adam and Eve I have ever had the displeasure of reading. I want my two minutes back!

If you prefer to stay in the asleep land of nod without waking up, by all means... keep your attention on angels with wings, Devils and talking snakes falling from the sky, a talking devil not worshipping someone who isn't even historical, etc. . . by all means it's your right.

What part of NOT CREDIBLE don't you understand?

How can you call yourself a man of god and promote his lies. a known criminal?

Do you not know about him?
Yes. He went to jail for nine years for selling something I think.
I know that after watching his video I believed in a 6 day creation 6000 years ago.

He was found guilty of failing to pay taxes, obstructing federal agents, and structuring cash transactions. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and 3 years probation.

I know that after watching his video I believed in a 6 day creation 6000 years ago.
Curious as to what points Hovind made that convinced you.

Talking snakes? Nachash (נָחָשׁ) was not a talking snake. Nachash was a shining one, a divine being. The translation of Nachash to "serpent" is troubling, especially if one takes it literally, as you clearly have.

When the Nachash tempted Eve and it was found out, the Nachash was cursed to:

Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent (The Shining One), Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

The usage of "upon thy belly shalt thou go" and "dust shall thou eat all the days of thy life." is not literal, in the sense Nachash was not a literal serpent. Instead, the above refers to the station of the Nachash, which was brought low. In this, "serpent" (to mean lowly) is a correct interpretation.

There is another particular scripture which deals with a similar fall. Specifically, a certain divine being who was (brought low):

Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Eze 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Eze 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

It is well known the above scripture compares a certain divine being to a human king. Do you notice anything interesting? Read what has been made bold and it will become clear. A human king was not in Eden, Adam was, and the human king is not being compared to Adam. The human king is also not a covering or anointed cherub. This can only mean there is a link between Genesis 3:14 and Ezekiel 28:13-17. Can you find it? Case closed.

So, do I believe in literal talking snakes? No. I do not believe in literal rods turning into literal snakes either, or for that matter, literal whores fornicating with a literal nation! This is because I do not interpret all scripture literally. Is it rational to believe a rod can transform into a literal snake? No! There is no evidence such a feat can be performed! Then, there also is no evidence that:

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING had babies in tiny speck and those babies formed more babies and those babies formed the universe as we know it. I can not wrap my head around that at all. I think I prefer the talking snake at this point. (*Perplexed expression*) Not that I have been taught or ever believed that EVERYTHING came from ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, mind you. (*Jabs LITERAL six day Creationist sharply*)

One has to refuse education and knowledge and I agree.

If six day creation is true, then the Earth absolutely MUST be flat. Why? Because the Bible says it is and the Bible is absolutely correct! No other reason needs to be given! Right? The Earth is flat and there is literal water above something called the firmament. So, the next time a child asks, "why is the sky blue?", tell them it is because, "there is water up there." Actually, that is not true. The water is no longer "up there" because some believe that is what caused the flood. So, never mind why the sky is blue!

Do not concern yourself with the knowledge of Satan that the ancient Israelites believed in a flat Earth. Just ignore science and all of the evidence to prove the Earth is more than six thousand years old and A GLOBE, and it will all go away...

From years of experience here.

You cannot use reason and logic to fight against people who refuse logic and reason, and did not use it to gain their current faith.

What I did, was study their religion better then they ever did, and use biblical knowledge against them where it hits home.

Just my personal view, and it may not be the best way either. I'm glad to have people here fighting for reality

Sure, every human being has a covering to their brain, it is called the cerebrum(cheribum) and there are two, the west and the east spheres. Case open.

"God" is something that is not external to anyone. It's all in mind.

The rod is the spinal cord. The fields and nations are also within.

One brought low is to the lower energy in their body... the belly/gut which has over 100 million brain cells.

To simplify, it's more like your brain giving birth to knowledge. Brain babies will reproduce and multiply and form/create ones mental world.

When someone is born their mind is whole... As someone gets older they are corrupted by their environment. . they fall from peace to suffering. Their journey continues to end suffering and find peace/rest.

A human king has a separated mind. An "annointed" king has a whole(holy) mind.

Adam(the conscious mind) and Eve(the subconscious mind) were whole and working in perfect unity upon birth and as a little child until the ego developed due to environmental influence in combination with choices.

What in the... sweet ****? Are you actually trying to turn the writings of ancient Israelites (who believed in a flat Earth) as some type of proof they knew about neuroscience and human bio chemistry?

Pretty sure נחש is unrelated to any root words meaning "shining one, a divine being" and is instead related to the word לחש to incant. Probably because it hisses.

Those are not literal "Israelite" people.

Egypt is the land of chemistry.

Those are writings from very few "enlightened" folks.

And no, they didn't understand the type of neuroscience we know in this era.
Their conscious experiences were no different than the ones we have today.

While I am a Theist, I also celebrate science and technology. In fact, I celebrate technology as the sole thing which has the capability to transform man into a god, and without technology, man is just a lowly animal.
