The message of Jesus conveyed..

BSM1

What? Me worry?
So.... yes..... keeping your spiritual freedom is best, I think; I have read several christians on RF who have been so upset within various groups. I'm trying to compile as many historical possibilities, probabilities and certainties about Jesus as I can. I want to write an article introducing Jesus to Agnostics and Atheists, possibly for a magazine or something like that. That's my goal. Something like, 'Meet the Jesus that everybody can believe in'. That's going to take me some considerable time, because the info just keeps jumping off the pages at me.

An admirable task. I'm sure you will take pains not to make Jesus come off as a comic book superhero. So many denominational Christians still seem to see Jesus in a Sunday
School format. It's hard to get them to experience the grown-up Yeshua.

Good point. No..... no superhero, just a much followed healer, teacher, social guide and counselor. Well..... to his own, the working people of Galilee I reckon he was a hero. I would need to colour in some grey areas, but I would want to do so in an impartial way, if possible.

It wouldn't need flashy gimmickry, because his story is just amazing, standing alone.

I can relate with this. I am glad everyone is not so black and white on this subject. I am very use to this subject being black and white. I been to many types of churches over the years, mostly years ago. I like Jesus, I am just not interested in many of the outlets available for his teachings. I was thinking earlier of the the post I made the other day. The one about the temple and the tax/fish. That was a clever and humorous story, for me it is anyway. This is the JC I like, no matter how many other ways that passage can be interpreted.

I am not entirely sure how to answer you but God definitely taught us the importance of love. Jesus is God. He is God incarnate, the Son of God and the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity.

But yeah, He taught us that love is very important. He taught us that not only should we love ourselves but we should love our neighbors and even our enemies. Most importantly we should love God above all things.
