What happens if we have more than one favorite. I voted for Matthew, but I wanted to vote for James, too.

I could pick a Gospel....
But thought that seemed to ... IDK...
So I picked James.

Too predictable? Too obvious? Too cliche?

Basically, yeah... some combination there in :D

Meaning what? I still don't get it.

Reading the words attributed to Jesus is what it's all about in the mix.
This IS it, ya know?

I chose an epistle because a lot of the doctrine and dogma come from them, so I feel it's important to name one that I particularly relate to in my understanding of what it means to be Christian and be in harmony with God's Way.

Hope that helps. :)

IDK I think we just have very different ideas about Christianity or something.

Now I must ask ;)

Meaning what?

What did you infer from my comments?

And no... this isn't a trap or a rhetorical question....
I'm the kind of RFer who is actually interested in what others' experiences are.

Hmm that you think there is a variance in teaching from Book to book or from epistles to epistles, gospel from epistles etc.,,, I hold the opposite view, I don't think that the NT holds it's meaning without the whole Scripture.
But, hey, what do I know, I'm a very mild Christian, more of a "Biblist" probably, I don't read the NT more than the OT either,... so anyways.

So anyways.... thanks for your opinion.
I don't agree or disagree.
Just thanks. :namaste

Actually...which comments? From your first comments I had no idea what you meant.

Either set.
You didn't understand the first and disagreed (or something) with the second set....
You choose :D

What don't you understand about the first for starters?
Do you understand the second set of comments? (not necessarily agree with)

"Understand"?? Your comment was vague. Unless someone is already aware of what you're implying, they aren't going to know what you mean.
Second comment, can't really disagree with it because I'm not sure what your opinions are on the Bible/Scripture....

First comment: 'What it's all about in the mix"= Words of Jesus are most important, I think.

Second comment: Not worth getting into. Live and let live, bruddha!

I was explaining why I wouldn't understand vague or nuanced comments relating to Christianity, I don't attend church, I've never had a denomination, I don't take part in church activities/rituals, etc.
Basically, unless something can be understood from straight Bible reading or casual internet search, I'm not going to get Christian subject debates/arguments, differing viewpoints.

Thanks for helping me understand about you. :)

I was raised in a Protestant Church, which was Methodist.

But now I'm pretty much just me.
So you aren't talking to some strict type of person here.

It's likely we have a lot in common, besides this point/conclusion we've seemed to differ over.
