The Olivet discourse

First let me introduce myself: I'm an old agnostic/atheist curmudgeon, but fascinated with some aspects of the Christian faith.
Back to the thread title, and my apologies if it has already been debated.
All the synoptc gospels say that the disciples James, Peter, John and Andrew had a private conversation with Jesus about the end times. However, despite being specifically named as being present and having more than a passing interest in the topic, John does not consider it worthy of mention in his gospel. Why should that be? Did he not realise that, as the the only eye witness present, it would be at least expected of him.

And Revelation as well, of course. However, I think the Olivet discourse does place some doubt on that assumption.

What? Me worry?
You should read The Urantia Book concerning Jesus and the Apostles. It gives one a new perspective on the entire matter. True, it may be bs but what isn't that can't be substantiated.

The consensus of critical scholarship is that the the Apostle John did not write the Book of Revelation.

Critical scholarship seems to find consensus unpalatable. We shall perhaps never know who wrote the NT and/or who the authors truly were. I have thoughts of Paul living to an old age chuckling to himself at pulling off a great con trick (reports of his martyrdom notwithstanding).
