Those are not only averages but common earnings. Meaning most of the working middle class.

You said MOST of the working class is barely pulling in 300 per week.
I wonder what the parameters are now for defining the working class? Looks like pretty skewed inflated figures for me.

Most working class job offers in my area looking through job listings with just a high school education pay less than $17.00hr. Oh my!

Where in the hell are the $30hr plus offers for HS educated positions that makes for a grand a week? I can't find any. Funny that.

If you're not making that average or if you're making under 600 a week you're not in the majority. I'm not saying you yourself are not struggling. But 300 a week is far from normal. I know there are a lot of fast food workers barely getting by on that. It sucks.

Ziprecruiter is completely unbiased, nonpartisan and unaffiliated with any news agency. It's not "skewing" anything. These are need to know stats for folks looking for employment or employees.

It's why I'm a bottom line person I actually look at the ads in my immediate area and none of them are offering $1,000 plus a week for high school educated with no college or trade skills.

I used to make that amount easily driving s tractor trailer, but it was destroyed essentially by democrats idiocy via regulations and rules that was complicated considerably by my health issues in spite of being able to acquire of my surgeon signature saying that it's safe for me to drive a heavy vehicle but the regulations and red tape made it all but impossible and also severely compromised the ability to find an employer who will hire me. I essentially lost my job over it, and now have to work as a high school educated person. That's just how life works.

I didn't say you were skewing anything. Sorry if i have you that impression. I just think the figures that people put out are skewed and not realistic when you compare to the actual ads that you see in the papers or on the net.

They sold you a dream and didn't tell you that dream wasn't real. It's that whole American Dream nonsense really. It's a problem caused by both Dems and Reps and neither have any effective solution, imo. It's not just people like me, a trans woman, they're going to throw under a bus but folks like yourself. We need anarcho-syndicalism. Eat the rich.... fight the power!

Oh I don't disagree. If you you peruse the past background in my postings, you'll find a lot of posts I made pretty much reflected the same thing you're saying right now.

I am still feeling some shock at the realization that a lot of things I was taught about the American dream and the like, are in reality, not actually true.

The "dream" is laden with half-truths. I made a success story out of my life. I did it out of spite. People told me I would not make anything out of myself. I went into adulthood bitter, scorned, aggressive and I took a lot of damage. I'd say "thank you" to society. But now I am disenfranchised with it all... it's like I am back to square one only with a few more bucks than when I first started.

All it takes is one tragedy or misfortune that will bring you back to square one.

That's exactly what happened to me.

Nope. Massachusetts sets the standard. They have the best school system and high quality students. If they can do it on that standard, so can the rest of the country.

A large portion of working middle class are lucky that they can even barely pull in $300 a week and they have to work year around not the part-time seasonal jobs that teachers enjoy.
If you're pulling in $300 a week, how do you afford rent and food? My son (a college student) works part time as a cook at a restaurant and makes more than that.

I'd rather not eat the rich. They look fatty. Can't we eat some long distance runners?

If you have made no effort to improve your credentials, the rate of pay stays low. There's a reason teachers go to teacher's college. They have made themselves better, and deserve to be paid. No one said teachers started teaching right out of high school.

I like just a little bit of fat, for flavor. Those athletic types are probably too tough, bland and grainy. I'm eyeballing Zuck. Trump and Musk are too fatty. I've been swearing off pork for a while now.

How about as a tractor trailer dispatcher? You know the equipment and regulations.

I considered it, but I was lucky enough in the interim to end up with a manufacturer that is somewhat decent. My goal really isn't to start a new career anymore but more like to just make it to retirement in what is now less than 7 years.
