The only TV commercial that makes me cry every time

!Fluffy!

it's that aspca one with Sarah McLachlan singing that song, I think it is called "In the Arms of the Angel" in the background

you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there

and all of the innocent victims, the eyes of one shelter pet after another staring at you pleading...

*sniff*

I'm afraid I can't even think of shelter animals without wanting to cry. We've been honored enough to adopt two of them, but I wish I could take all of them home. (And give them the attention and room that they need, too!) Of course, hearing the "In the Arms of an Angel" makes me want to cry, too. Such a beautiful song!

You know, Feathers, shelters always need loving volunteers. You can even just go in for a few hours a week and play with the animals (in most shelters), it let's the animals know that they're still loved, and relieves a lot of the distress that they feel.

Even just going to your local SPCA and taking the dogs for a walk helps out more than you can imagine.

I volunteer at both my local SPCA and Paws For Life (a smaller dog shelter). I just started at PfL recently, but I've been with the SPCA for 7 years now. It's amazing how much just a tiny bit of affection can change the attitude of a dog or cat and make them go from being "Too agressive, non-adoptable", to "Rehabilitated and up for adoption".
