My best guess is that there is enough difficulty in proving direct cause and effect that it won't be allowed to have any impact on economic policy.

Best way to prevent it impacting on economic policy is to get on the front foot with a little 'science' of your own, casting doubt.

For reference, consider how the cigarette industry managed to do this very effectively for many years.

Since he thinks Climate Change(CC) is a Chinese plot to tank our economy, and also that he is smarter than all the generals......I wouldn't put any money on the Sec. of the Interior, Sec. of Energy, or the S c. of Defense being reality-based in regards to CC.

It sounds like they're getting ready to blame climate change for a few wars.

Not convinced as other scientists not on the federal pay-roll are not buying it.

The other scientists aren't on the federal payroll. Where'd you get that idea? We're talking about thousands of scientists from hundreds of countries conducting independent research and reaching the same conclusions.
If anyone's on any payroll it's the climate deniers and politicians on the petrochemical payroll.
