The Prophets of the Bible

Jesuslightoftheworld

The world has nothing to offer us!
I have heard that some Jews also the the Prophets in the Old Testament. Is that true, and if so, why and what do they think about them?

The Prophets are part of Hebrew scripture. They are a collection of writings, and what a Jew might think about any particular text will vary. Do you have a more specific question?

I guess I want to know aside from the Torah, do they believe the Prophets are inspired Word of God?

Good Lord how are you asking us if Jews place value on the Prophets in our very own Bibles?

That's like asking if Mohammed has some value in Islam.

Rhetorical questions like that are typically agenda driven while being typically awkward at best.

You'd think after 2,000 years Christians would be bored of this.

Never underestimate an obsession I guess.

It (God's word / memra) was also an obsession with some Jews. Blame verses in Tanakh and later Jewish efforts for providing just enough (or plenty!) inroads for this idolatry. (see Proverb's 'Wisdom'/Chokhma; Targum's Memra; Philo's Logos; John's Logos/Word; Kabbalah's concretization of these things; see Jewish Encylopedia's entry on memra for more verses that fed our 'favorite' idolatry that's being celebrated today-- the circumcision feast/bris of God's Word.
