I've never understood why people get so excited about New Years, and why the celebrations and count downs and such are celebrated so.

My ideal new years celebration is sitting in my green leather chair, in the
dark, in front of a warm stove, eating chocolate, sipping booze, & railing
against wrongs on the internet. And if I'm really lucky, a bawdy limerick
will gooje forth.

I'm spending the night watching Alf. The show that had it not existed, Roger in American Dad probably wouldn't exist, and the show would never have had most of its charm and appeal.

I like it more than Family Guy. Family Guy I never liked until years ago at a friends house when were passing around some fun stuff, American Dad has Patrick Stewart, tons of nerd references, and Krampus. And an extreme example of an Uber Menschian alien.

Family guy really stands out because of Brian & Stewie.
Meg is also a great character, especially in the one
bizarre episode wherein she stands up against the
abuse everyone heaps upon her. I like it when the
show breaks character to become surreal.

Is "surreal" too pretentious a term to use here?
