I think they don't know! The only store checkout that I know which asks if you want cash back on a credit card is Wal Mart. I asked the women, "who would DO that?" and she said that a lot of people do. So, of course, I thought, interest and she said yes, it charges interest (I know it charges it right away) and I said, maybe people don't know, and she said, "they know". Really? Some people know, sure, but I think sometimes they don't know. Once, I almost did it and then I thought, it's a credit card, not a debit card.

So, people do not care to pay interest on their own money? LOL

Many people are not financially savvy.

I am a little confused here. If you get cash back when making a purchase with a credit card, the interest involved is the same as if the purchase you made had been that much larger. For example, if you make a $50 purchase and ask for $20 cash back, your credit card bill will just show you spent $70 at Walmart, or wherever.

Is there perhaps some confusion going on with cash advance? Never ever get a cash advance from your credit card company. . There is an immediate large service charge and an outrageous interest rate. Plus all payments you make will be applied first to your regular credit balance, allowing that high interest cash advance to grow and grow unimpeded.

Personally, I pay off my credit card purchases every week along with all current bills and have not paid any interest in many years.
