I don't know about venues, but there is definitely potential in taking wedding pictures.
Only if you're really good, and have an established practice...and any more, can handle simultaneous stills and video, do interviews, edit, and supervise several staff to assist you in doing all those things...the bigger the event, the more things you have to do...

Aye, it sounds like a stressful skilled trade.
Not for me.
My plan is to provide the venue & some hardware...essentially a rental company.
I'd find someone else to run the business. I'd rent my place out to them.
This has advantages for me....

1) As a rental company, it would be investment income (IRS Schedule E),
& therefore not subject to self employment tax. The business operator
would be IRS Schedule C (paying SE tax).

2) I'm old....not & energetic enuf to run such a detailed service oriented business,
& deal with bridezillas. I want only to manage the facility I already have.

I'm a photographer (I can also do video/sound and edit), but I'm not a director.

I need some super wise all knowing smart person I can walk up, poke on the arm, ask what's the best thing I can do in my life short term right now, all things considered, and leave a tray of my special recipe cookies. A variety tray, even, with a healthful selection of each variety. I'll probably need a few extra batches of better than sex cookies (it took several recipe variations, but I have one that is awesome).

I did a few weddings back when it was still film only and some hippy and yuppie types would be happy with a lower cost me, and just basic good photography rather than the typical set piece nonsense...

When I got married the first time, the photographer introduced himself to me FOUR times..."Hi, I'm Photography by Dave"..."Yes Dave, I got your name when we took the pictures before the wedding...and no, I can't open the pod bay doors for you..."

When I got married the second time, my brother in law (a wonderful photographer) and two coworkers/good friends who also were photographers got paid to take pictures during the preparations, ceremony and reception, all of which took place at our house out in the country...in addition, we bought a dozen of those disposable 35 mm cameras and set them around on tables and chairs...we got lots of wonderful pix of us and our guests taken by our guests...

Too bad running a bakery/desert/candy store would probably make me hate cooking in general. But maybe not a bad idea. I don't care much for cooking them, but I enjoy coming up with stuff and seeing if it turns out well or not. And with that kind of store I could then eat a bit of this and that as it's fresh. :D

Word of warning: Never deal with Japanese companies when purchasing items over the internet. They appear to handle complaints with sicky sweet responses, which are overly apologetic, asking for your kind understanding, that accomplish absolutely nothing.

They're weak.
That's why they lost WW2.
Every time they shot someone, they'd keep apologizing.
"So solly...so solly..."
Also, they're so short that they kept shooting Ameristanians in the shins.

The above is really for @Audie.

Well...they have not tried to shoot me in the shins yet......but I still want no more dealings with them

It was colder here this morning, and it warmed up a bit, but probably to the same temperature as you are calling colder
I was promised and planned on weather forecasts of a certain temperature. I packed for those temps. I demand those temps. And all the time it was fake news by them who are ignoring the real news that it is the temperature it was supposed to be.
