It's a commentary on the sad state of affairs that I consider you a veritable Greek Philosopher King compared to, say, the governor of Montana who refuses to do anything to mitigate climate change but wants the (evil) Federal Government to give them aid because of climate change.

My 15 year old digital hygrometer died....and I thought...15 years...not bad...... then I noticed a big classroom type clock I have in the basement was not working....all it needed was a new AA battery.. that clock is older than many posters on RF....it came with my parents last house....almost 40 years ago... and I have no idea how long it had been hanging there when they moved in...

On a side note, I'm sure glad they have temple thermometers these days. I hated rectal thermometers, and I wasn't a big fan of keeping a thermometer under my tongue for 3 minutes either.
