I'm thinking the actor they got to play Mario doesn't look enough like Mario, even in uniform.
That Mario Movie that basically had nothing to do with the games? The Mario movie that makes me wonder if John Leguizamo regretted that or Spawn more?

I admit having enjoyed that mario movie where the king was de-evolved into slime. I enjoyed some of the imagery, like Wanda's clothes and the weird underground city etc. Obviously it wasn't the best film in its category, but for its clothing and sets and general weirdness I enjoyed it more than Valerian, slightly less than Jupiter Rising. Jupiter Rising had such interesting machines and space stuff. Valerian had some, too but was somehow less cinematic or less dramatic. The relationship felt like it was superimposed onto an otherwise non-romantic story. The Mario movie thought it was not very romantic didn't pretend to be very romantic, so it actually had a more serious feeling plot than Valerian.

It did have a good cyberpunk look to it.

My right arm got the booster pfizer jab and is now a bit sore on schedule. I'm trying to find a simple way of putting the image (or pdf) on the phone in a convenient place but the software is fighting me. I will prevail but dinner is next.

Iowa town cooks up 14,280 pancakes for Guinness World Record - UPI.com

Sept. 27 (UPI) -- An Iowa city's annual Pancake Day celebration featured a Guinness World Record being broken when a total 14,280 pancakes were served up at the festival.

Organizers of Pancake Day in Centerville said 2,400 pounds of pancake batter were donated for the event by grocery chain Hy-Vee, which previously set the Guinness record for largest serving of pancakes at 13,000 in Blue Springs, Mo., in June.

About 100 volunteers who represented numerous local businesses cooked up 14,280 pancakes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to take the record.

Organizers said about 17,000 pancakes are usually served during an average Pancake Day, but the number was reduced for the record attempt to ensure all of the pancakes followed Guinness requirements.

The requirements stipulated each pancake must be at least 5 inches in diameter and no more than .39 inch thick.

Those Guinness requirements are interesting. At least 5 inches in diameter and no more than .39 inch thick. I'm just imagining what sort of meeting they might have had at the Guinness office to settle on these specifications. I'm guessing it was a heated and controversial meeting.

The thickness maximum is what would get me. Maybe. I don't know. I've never actually measured my pancakes.
But I think I can break that record. I just need a bigger griddle than what I have access to because it would take me a very long time with what I have.
