Cyst excision. Nothing too serious. Like I said, it's just the situation with the kids that's an issue. The hospital is in Iowa City and that's almost a 2 hour drive from here (especially considering the construction) and they seem to like to schedule people to show up at 8am there. I'm hoping I can get them to push me back later in the day a bit so i can take the kids to school before leaving. Last time I had surgery there (kidney stones), I ended up having the kids stuck in my hospital room all day. No fun for any of us. :( Not that I'm expecting fun, but having two children cooped up in a hospital room when you're drugged up and not the greatest just doesn't help matters.
Yea, that wouldn't be fun. I hope they bump you for later in the day. This is something I have observed with people I've known who have had surgeries...they're always scheduled so early in the morning.

They aren't even really scheduled. You're put into an arrival group basically and then, based on who has shown up and what kind of surgery you are in for you go into a certain rotation. So you may show up at 8 but may not see a room until 10 or surgery until 11 or after.

Of course, if you don't show up in time you may be skipped and lose your spot. If I can get in about 10 I may see surgery in the afternoon.

Yikes. Well, hope things work out for you.

My step mother is also going in for surgery Thursday.

Good luck and well wishes to your step mom.

My issue, though will be painful while healing, I will be happy to have taken care of. It is a cyst that rests on my upper tailbone that has inflamed twice this year already and makes sitting and laying down in certain positions painful. Maybe TMI, but oh well. :p

well...it appears that I have less than a year to get my German to conversational again..... I was informed by Mrs Wu we will likely be going to Germany next year..... and communication is up to me...since I learned it in college (many many years ago) and by heritage I am mostly German....not sure I agree with the logic...... she only handles Mandarin...and Japanese if necessary
