I have an even better idea...

heartlakes01.jpg

Two humanmade lakes in the Western states: Heart Lake Major and Heart Lake Minor. They would provide ample amounts of drinking and showering water for residents in the really dry states. The heart shapes would make the rest of the world love American again. Moreover, constructing those lakes would create more than enough jobs for people in the region.

Careful because one of those lakes would mess with Texas.

It is very likely going to rain here beginning at noon.

I walked over to Starbucks last evening and ordered a yuja mint tea and a small bag of mini leaf pie. After getting my order, I walked upstairs, sat down, and enjoyed my drink while looking up some Sanskrit words. There were more customers upstairs than down.

Later, when I was walking home from the grocery store, a group of three people in their 20s stopped me and asked me if I would watch a video about how keeping the Passover will protect people against war and natural disasters. I said ‘Sure’ and then one of them played it on a tablet. They were members of the World Mission Society Church of God. I was intrigued when the English speaking woman told me that they believe in God the Mother. After watching the video, she asked me if I keep the Passover. I politely answered, ‘No, I’m a Hindu. I believe in Shankara’ and pointed to my Shiva pendant. She then nodded, thanked me for my time, and then she and the other two people walked off. I guess I wasn’t the target audience.

The JWs used to not know what to do with me. I didn't try to argue with them, but they didn't recognize my beliefs enough to try to 'convince' me. One asked me "what do you think of this?" I told her I had no thoughts at all on it. She was very confused.

I didn't see anything compelling on the movie list yesterday. Price of admission, distance to drive, risk of getting hungry near 10$ popcorns....decided to do something else.

The sport’s origin story isn’t exactly politically correct. It’s based on a 19th century Finnish legend involving a man known as “Ronkainen the Robber,” whose gang was known to pillage villages and carry away the women, according to one of the explanations included on the website wife-carrying.org.

Traditionally, the Finnish event featured male competitors carrying a woman. On Saturday, competing couples didn’t have to be married, nor did they have to be a man and a woman.

So that's what they do for fun in Maine.

Yeah. I get the feeling that such groups would be more interested in talking to us if we were Christian because there would be more commonalities and thus something to argue about. How does one try to convince a Hindu that Jesus is Michael the Archangel? How does one try to convince a Hindu that An Sang-hong is Jesus in his Second Coming? So, they bid us good day and walk away to find somebody more relatable. This is what I suspect.

Same. I got the feeling they're prepared to deal with Christians of other denominations, or perhaps an atheist, even. But something else, they become unsure.

But, I've found that JWs don't want to argue. They want a peaceful conversion. At least the ones that regularly visited me for well over a year. If I had never disagreed, and brought up things of interest to me but not familiar to them, they'd still be stopping by.

As I've noted here and would tell such people: I believe that there is only one Christ (Avatar) but there have been many "Jesuses" (incarnation in human form of the eternal Avatar. It's unlikely that such people would be prepared for me either.
