In the olden days atheists that spoke their beliefs and their personal opinion had their tongues removed or were imprisoned or slain. Even today people hate atheists...

I rarely speak out at work about my beliefs but outside of work with people who have no control over my employment I speak my mind... Do you think I should be allowed to be an atheist and still have job or does being an atheist preclude me from being an american and from having an american job?

Haha, of course you should be able to speak your mind and have a job. That's the beauty of America: freedom of religion (along with a host of other amazing rights our fore fathers so brilliantly included. :))

I know how you feel. I want to be an elementary school teacher, and do you think any school will hire me if I make any hint at what I believe about religion?? I don't think so... It sucks that I cannot have an opinion because it might mean I won't get a job. :(

Or be elected president etc etc in a country that supposedly has a clear seperation of church and state.

It makes me sad as well.

Oh well... There's no point in being angry or sad about it though. It doesn't change anything. You just have to deal with it. Just like any other crappy aspect of life. :D That's just the way it is.

If I don't go to class anymore, don't do my last observation report, and don't do the final, I'll get a C in my class. :D

But I am going to go to class (+3 points per day) And I am going to do my observation report (+15 points) And I am going to do the final (+?/40 or 50) Hooray!!
