Yes. Unless it's someone who rebuys a dvd/blue-ray just 'cause a new audio commentary from the gaffer's third cousin who was present when one scene was shot by the second-unit-director had something to say.

What if someone hypothetically or at least someone I know that isn't me, bought a new version of Citizen Kane because a film critic they liked was doing a commentary, that isn't sad is it ?

Not at all. Is it sad that I've watched some films more times for the commentary than for the film by itself?

ETA: Or watched the Euro' edit and the American release of Dawn of the Dead side-by-side...?

I don't know, how many other copies of Citizen Kane do they own?
 
I still giggle when I see McVities "Digestive Biscuits" and "Hob Nobs".
