I hople I don't get banned for posting random meaningless questions in the random meaningless announcement thread

RPG is short for role-playing game. You typically take the role of a person, and are required to level them up in some manner, typically by defeating enemies, in order to progress through the game.

That is a pressing and relevant question. What is the rule for abbreviations? An RPG, or a RPG?

I always say "an RPG".
I was taught that saying a/an was dependent on the first sound of the word that came after.
RPG starts with that "ah" sounds..."ahr"PG
while "role" starts with the "rrr" sound.

So, if it's a vowel sound, "an".
Consonant sound, "a".

lol No idea. I think I just liked him because of his whole thieves guild association and whatnot...and..he's just cool
I also always liked Beast and Storm, though. And I vaguely recall having mixed feelings about Rogue..I think I was usually just annoyed with her.

I can't believe I'm exposing my nerdhood so completely on RF...
Beast, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde and Jean were always my faves.

Jean got on my nerves,as did you know who. Storm should have but didn't because she was so bloody bossy, I liked some versions of rogue and hated others Beast and Nightcrawler and professor X were adoration worthy though in every incarnation.

...I think Jubilee also annoyed me.

Nooooo! Jeannie was great! I agree that Storm was ok I suppose, Rogue was hit and miss. The Colossus/Kitty relationship, the Beast and Nightcrawler... the best. Though the Beast in X3 was... meh. The Prof. was cool, but Patrick Stewart made him uber-cool.

I have no street cred now. Thx a lot.
