I don't have an ounce of Christmas spirit this year. I'm asking my husband to deal with the flippin' Christmas decorating when I'm not here because I don't want to have anything to do with it. Isn't that awful?

I just feel worlds away from all of it. It's overwhelming and I feel pressured by it and I just wish it would all go away. The only thing I enjoy about it is the movie ELF and this singing Reindeer that I have at work that sings "Don't Worry, Be Happy". I want to just tell everything else to bite me.

I love my family and I love my children with all of my heart by for crying out loud, I don't need a holiday to remember to love and give. I live by philanthropy. It should be a year long process not a once a year deal. These people who call to help the homeless once a year really bug me. People need help every day, all the time. We should be loving, caring people all the time, not just when the Christmas lights go up, for the warm and fuzzies.

And Secret Santa. It drives me nuts. Secret Santa is stupid. You draw names to spend $30.00 on someone that you could just keep for something useful. It's not fun. It's time consuming and a pain in the rear. I don't have time or energy to go to Bass Pro Shop to buy my father a stinkin' gift card. Why should someone go to Ulta to buy me a gift card when I really shouldn't be going to Ulta anyway when Craig is in between contracts? Whoever pulled my name from the hat should keep their stinkin' $30.00 and if they want to be generous, donate it to a family who can really use it. I could use that $30.00 towards Craig's vehicle inspection which is due this month. He insists that he won't need tires but he's wrong. His front tires are balding.

Christmas music is a good thing. Gift exchanges are evil. Tires need to last for thousands of miles before blowing out and chocolate should be full flavor and always fat free...

My life is far too heavy right now and I just don't care about all of this crap. And I really don't care that I'm a scrooge. Christmas just isn't Christmas without one.

Do you have to go all the way there?

Here, most gas stations and supermarkets have a wall of gift cards... including Bass Pro Shops, usually.

It's not as bad as I'm making it out. I pass by a Bass Pro on my way home every day and Wal-Mart sells the cards. It's the principle of the thing. I'm just not into it this year.

After complaining about my lack of Christmas spirit, I ordered all of my flippin' presents and got it over with. I feel relieved. I'm such a hypocrite.
