The snow's supposed to hit us sometime after midnight. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what sort of winter wonderland we'll wake up to.
I want to say it's more of a winter hell here, but we don't need yard sticks to measure the snow fall yet. It's the worst we have had in years though.

Can some hit me up side the head with a hammer so I can sleep?

No.

May I recommend you cease thinking about everything, I mean everything, total blankness of mind and sustain it...takes practice and patience.
You enter a meditative state and unless you focus your eyes on something you fall asleep very quickly.
This is a technique used by the military to get some kip between actions.......

I'm so tired... *sigh* And I got a ticket for 173 dollars because I neglected to validate my bus ticket...
Seriously? Never happened to me, but I was lucky the few times I didn't have a ticket. Like when my bus pass would run out, and I needed to take a bus to get a new one. Bus drivers tended to be good about that.

Some bus drivers are awesome. Some border on pure evil. Like the one who closed the door in my face as I was walking up to the door and drove off as I knocked on it. The day before I was leaving the country, too. ****** me off so much. I had waited maybe twenty minutes for that bus, and had to wait another twenty to thirty. graaaaaar.

But then you remember the awesome ones, like one who stopped to pick up people forced to walk because of very heavy snow, when there weren't bus stops to stop at. He stopped and pointed out some deer, too.

Now Lebanon's bus system is a whole different ball game. ;)

I should loan you my geotechnical engineering textbooks. Stronger than any sleep drug.
Will probably work better than self hypnosis, too.

The thing that I keep thinking about is digging my feet in sand. I can't wait for a really warm day to dig my feet in warm sand. That's been my happy thought this winter.

Arthur Miller on suffering and psychoanalysis: ‘My argument with so much of psychoanalysis, is the preconception that suffering is a mistake, or a sign of weakness, or a sign even of illness. When in fact, possibly the greatest truths we know have come out of people’s suffering. The problem is not to undo suffering, or to wipe it off the face of the earth, but to make it inform our lives instead of trying to “cure” ourselves of it constantly, and avoid it, and avoid anything but that lobotomized sense of what they call “happiness”. There’s too much of an attempt, it seems to me, to think in terms of controlling man, rather than freeing him – of defining him, rather than letting him go! It’s part of the whole ideology of this age, which is power-mad!’
