I managed to forget to give my parents Christmas presents. So I have to make it up to them somehow. Not that they appear to care, but still.

Yep you must be on my FB! lol. I actually quoted scripture in response as well, not that she is actually religious, just likes to judge because her mother is "Christian" so she thinks being Christian is to judge but yet she takes drugs, smokes and acts in a way that is not her true self but to please others.

LOL aint it always like that? one way in private, another in public.

I don't think I'm on your FB though. It is something I would say myself had someone said the same of my brother.

Random, disgusting, but yummy at the same time. I ate Nutella from a jar with a spoon today. Not a lot...but still...

I'm a bit ashamed.

The hardest part about being separated (and divorcing) is having wonderful children and sharing them across state lines. I didn't have my girls for Christmas, though I was supposed to. I've missed them so much. But, alas...they are coming home tomorrow! And I'm trying to think of something super awesome that we can do over the weekend, that involves lots of silly.

I'm going through a separation myself right now, though I don't have kids. I can only imagine what it's been like for you.

The hardest part for me so far has been the fact that uncles don't get any sort of visitation rights. I have (or had, I guess) 8 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. This was the first Christmas in 7 years that I didn't see them (well... except for the great-nephew - this was only his second Christmas). Unless I bump into one of them walking down the street - which is unlikely - I'll probably never see any of them again.

Fortunately, my girls do live with me and I only have to part with them for the summer and for school breaks and holidays. But, having never parted with them at all before, it's been a hard adjustment for me. I understand very well where you're coming from. That detachment and acceptance of loss...of the "other" family...is hard.

I wish it was hot weather with stiffing humidity here, but all we have is brisk cold winter with a chill that can freeze your tears because you go out into the cold.
