As my feet touched solid ground
I felt a chill run down my spine
I could almost hear the sound
Of thousands pushing through the lines
Mothers and bewildered wives
That sailed across the raging sea
Others running for their lives
To the Land of Opportunity

Down on Ellis Island
Ohh, oh... down on Ellis Island

Advice: Never eat nuts on a long trip. They make you thirsty and make you drink more water and then you need to... and so on.

My nephew was born on Saturday - Gabriel Lee - 8 lbs. 4 oz. 19 inches long. Out of all of the grandchildren, he was born, the "shortest". I can't wait to meet the little guy. He and my sis are home and doing well. He's beautiful.

Maybe we can see a pic of Gabriel Lee. Welcome to the world, young man. ;)

My kids have taken to singing "We Are Young". Last night as we were getting ready to tuck them into bed my 3y/o starts walking around us lightly singing "and when the bar closes and you feel like falling down, I will carry you home...." And then both her and her brother belt into "TONIIIIIIGHT We are YOUUUUUNG!" The whole dang chorus, standing on his bed together like it was a stage. :p

This is awesome! Ruthie, my seven year old, really belts it out, when she sings "Jar of Hearts". It's a soulful...moving performance.

And then there's her own song, called "Corn"...where she sings with all her heart about the wonderful aspects of corn.:D

Has wondered if the legendary Zingerman's peppered bacon bread is as good as they say?
Yes! Yes! It is absolutely fantastic!
(We just got the 2 loaves we ordered a month ago.)
