My son, David is going to be 18 tomorrow. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this. He doesn't seem to be happy about it- he just told me he didn't want to have to act like an adult.

If it were up to me, we wouldn't consider people adults until they are 21. At 18 their brain is still in a state where being able to see long term consequences has usually not fully developed. It so is. I'm doing good at some of this grown up stuff though, even though I myself have not actually done that. Just today I was out wearing Tripp pants with all the chains and a TOOL shirt. And the rhythm of the clank of the chains as I walked reminded me of the Cybermen. Which then got me thinking of how adorable the 10th Doctor is.Growing up is overratted
