Beats me. Sound like a small cadre of armchair warriors. That is SO scary, ain't it?
So far, it seems to be a nebulous group of hated white guys who are an amalgam of
Republicans, Nazis, & anti-feminists with a pinch of nerdism who post someplace like Reddit.

It's basically a bunch of middle and working class white guys who feel disenfranchised, maligned and humiliated by the world at large. They believe that their social status is threatened by globalism, multiculturalism, feminism, minority rights movements and increasing economic stratification. It's an anger that's been building for quite a while.

Yep, you kinda nailed it.
I'll add that it's just a new label attached to an element which afflicts liberals, Democrats, Republicans, feminists, MRAs & ;prolly a few others.
It seems a meaningless boogeyman for demonizing any group one dislikes.

If fascism itself is the real enemy, then fight that....instead of insulting nerdy young white guys.
That distracts from the fact that oppression lurks on both sides of the upcoming elections.

I have no doubt the group exist. I think I work with some of them.

But the notion that this is a new group is where I think you are wrong. This group has been around since I was a kid 30+ years ago and probably long before that. Anyone else remember Jesse Helms?

I think the "rising" part is that this movement is gaining a lot of traction on the internet, becoming more vocal and especially recruiting more young people.
