There have been many over the years who claimed to be the Second Coming of Christ or the reincarnation of Jesus. Below is list of notable ones:...................
If not, what evidences would you need to believe someone claiming to be the second coming of Jesus?
There'd probably be plenty of amputees for Christ to heal if he were ever to miraculously reappear on Earth. The healing of all amputees would be one of the most convincing miracles Christ could perform to prove himself as being a god/God. There's been plenty of charlatans who've performed the illusion of healing somebody's disease, but only a truly supernatural power could heal all amputees.
- I’d have to believe in Jesus as God and believe in his second coming, neither of which I believe.
- He’d have to appear as described in the biblical prophecies: the clouds, accompanied by the heavenly hosts, the astronomical, geological and meteorological events,
If not, what evidences would you need to believe someone claiming to be the second coming of Jesus?
And I'd want to see miracles before doing so
If you check out the 19th century section of the list you will find the name Bahá’u’lláh. He is the founder of the Baha’i Faith. To meet the criteria he must fulfill the prophecies in the both the Tanakh and New Testament.
OTOH as a Baha’i, the reason I chose this faith has little if anything to do with prophecy. Instead it is a practical faith that makes sense and has teachings and principles suited to the modern world.

Do you believe any of these listed or any others not listed are/were genuine?
If so, why?

Seeing in the book of Revelation God gave the last prophecy that is to happen first, before Christ Jesus can return.
This Prophecy brings the end of the Tribulation and the return of Christ Jesus.
So anyone who claims to be Christ Jesus or claims to be Christ Jesus second coming.
It's all false.
Because Christ Jesus will not and can not return until the last prophecy in the book of Revelation happens first.
I personally chose the Baha'i Faith after a long involved search, which still continues. First I found Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to fail as stand alone, final religions and the end of religious revelation, which they claim as exclusive. Of the other religions of the world I favored the Buddhism, but the they all had strong cultural foundations which did not reflect a universal view. IF God exists I believed God would be more universal than any on religion believes..
The non-religious alternative is logical and reasonable and that is that nature is as nature is and no Gods nor other 'spiritual worlds' exist. It would easily logical and rational from this perspective to reject all of the above messianic figures including those of the traditional religions if they claim as they do as 'stand alone' and exclusive.
I believe that the nature of our existence is consistent and universal. IF God exists there is a universal perspective of the religions. I believe there is a progressive nature of the religions discounting the claims of exclusiveness of the different religions, and this fits the beliefs of the Baha'i Faith.
In reviewing the progressive nature of the prophesies of the different religions I found that the claims of the Baha'i Faith reasonably fit the prophetic vision of the religions IF religion and the progressive spiritual evolution of humanity fits with a universal relationship between Creation, humanity and God.
I do not buy miraculous supernatural claims of religions and other belief systems. I am more practical about my expectations of religion.
Since clouds hide or obscure something that leads me to think just as Jesus disappeared in the clouds then his return would be clouded or Not visible.
The resurrected Ascended-to-Heaven Jesus has his pre-human spirit body, Not a physical body.
So, a spirit body does Not have to be seen with physical eyes, but with the mind's eyes of understanding.
That is why Jesus gave us 'composite events' happening as in both Matthew 24 and Luke 21 as a sign for us.
Besides the international global proclaiming about God's kingdom of Daniel 2:44 now in its final phase, that means to me we are nearing the ' final signal ', so to speak, of 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 when the 'powers that be' will be saying, "Peace and Security" as the precursor to the coming great tribulation of Revelation 7:14 before Jesus, as Prince of Peace, ushers in global Peace on Earth among person's of goodwill.
I believe it has happened.
No but that prophecy only happens during the third coming, not the second.
Well if it happened, then why are we still here and everything is still the same?
Thanks Frank,
I’ve just told my story in regards the Baha’i Faith to another.
How important is Satan in your faith or worldview?
I don’t think our journeys have been too dissimilar. I spent time investigating Buddhism and Hinduism during my 5 year sojourn investigating the nature of reality. I tried atheism for about a year but it was the worst time of my life lol. Theism is what works for me and the Baha’i Faith is the best thing around as far as I can see.
I guess my journey came down to IF God exists, God is more universal than the claims of any individual religion, thus I still believed in God for reasons maybe another thread, therefor the only choice was the Baha'i Faith unless I made up a religion to suit myself.
Also the spiritual principles played a more important role than prophesy. As a scientist I found the older religions lacked the firm specific principle of the Harmony of science and religion giving science the say in the knowledge of the material worlds, and the Baha'i Faith teaches this principle. The other spiritual principles guide science in the service to humanity.
Well if it happened, then why are we still here and everything is still the same?
How many times have we seen the Salvation from God (Yeshua - H3444), physically manifest something in the Bible? As to how do you get a third coming.

For starters, He fulfilled all the prophecies for the Return of Christ. If so, why?
find this comment interesting. Would it be okay if someone told you about these miracles, or would you need to see them personally?
