The smell of a man?

Ok, on a local radio station the host has a question and allows people to call in to answer. A couple days ago, the question had to do with what scent turns a woman on more, cologne, deoderant, or the natural scent of a stinky sweaty man.

The EXTREME majority of women that called in said it was the natural scent of a stinky sweaty man. Even more so than when men clean themselves up. Now, this is just in Western Pennsylvania. I want to know, what is the concensus throughout the rest of the world? Is it cologne, deoderant, or the natural scent of a stinky sweaty man? :D

Well, all I can say is that Marie doesn't like me to stink ! - I just get my marching orders to the bathroom.....:D

Just a thought; is this anything to do with pheromones ?

just a couple months ago i was at a friend's house and my shirt was completely soaked in sweat. i took it off to dry and she picked it up and started smelling it. i looked at her funny and she said she loves that smell, i do not wear cologne or deodorant or artificial scents of any kind. it seemed odd to me. We had no sort of sexual relationship, nor have we ever. i do not live in Pennsylvania.

I could make remarks about women in Western Pennsylvania...but I'm originally from Ohio...right on the state line so I won't out of self-preservation. :D

I think if these women had been more specific, they would've said that it's not just the natural scent of *any* man...but a particular man and I'd also guess that they're not talking about an unwashed body either. Assuming the person bathes daily, they're getting rid of the bacteria that creates the nasty smell. A clean sweat body, while it has an odor, doesn't reek.

I tend to pay attention to my nose (which is good since my business depends on it), and I agree with these women. I love burying my face in my husband's neck at the end of the day...when he smells like himself, moreso than in the morning when he still smells like soap.

When my youngest was a newborn, I would sit for hours and rock him through his nap, just so I could smell him. I could have picked him out of a group of babies, with my eyes closed, just by smell.

In the west, more so in the U.S. than in Europe too, I think, people are obsessed with odor and spend hundreds of dollars on colognes, perfumes, and deodorants in an attempt to cover up the natural human smell. They don't know what they're missing.

I think Melody's half-right...every person has their own scent, so if you smell the scent of a person you love, of course it smells great :)

But it's also those stupid pheremones....

By the way, my senior prank is going to be to buy loads of pheremones and spill them in the school hallways :D Talk about chaos!

I hold fake scents in the same regard as I hold regular make-up. In other words, what is the point? Doesn't really impact on me. Just be yourself.

Yes, you can buy pheremones. I don't believe they're real human pheremones, I think they're animal-derived. Depending on where you get them from, they work better. The 'Axe Effect' is made possible with pheremones, I believe (and wow, it works, too.)

I'm a very sensual person. I love interesting scents, textures, etc. So I like most scents, but I'm not fond of sweaty man really. Although sweaty man is better than sweaty teenage boy :D

I've always made a point not to inhale too deeply around sweaty guys...maybe I should start. ;)

I like cologne and soap, but apparently I don't know what I'm missing!
