To reference Greek philosophers and the theater, or the stages chosen for the discourse between people, places like RF offer much of the same concept in practice. When we make posts and contribute something of ourselves here, I envision that type of theater as if I'm in a classroom at a university or taking my turn on stage among these giants, receiving an active education through our discussions.
A Christian might claim "vain philosophy" that all philosophy is vain, others might claim contrary to that premise, suggesting that even the Logos as they understand it is being honored though this type of medium or venue...despite the content of their own cultures not being discussed, sometimes.
So, are we in the classroom, on stage with the likes of Plato and other brilliant minds, or are we just talking as a community? Maybe it's a little of all mentioned, and how we view this board determines what we are able to receive from it as participants in the discussions themselves.
What's vain about philosophy, anyway?
