What are the subjects, if any, about which you care so much that you sometimes or occasionally find yourself having to pull the brakes on your passion and investment while forming opinions about or discussing something related to said subjects?

In a nutshell, what subjects are most prone to making you need a conscious effort to rein in your biases, emotions, etc., when you're discussing or thinking about them?
Spirituality and self improvement philosophies and all things related to mental health.

For debate Abuse, especially child abuse and racism. Two topics I generally go off the rails when debating. In real life I would report it to the proper authorities. I general conversation Anime and Manga; I have way too much passion and spend way too much money on it.

Basketball, x 100

Ask me anything about it, and buckle up, be it grassroots juniors, coaching and development, women's sports, international play through to the overgrown babies of the NBA earning bazillions and being unable to hit free throws.

What NCAA men's team lost a championship title due to corruption?

LGBTQ rights, childhood abuse/victimization/bullying, sexual assault survival issues, mistreatment of others in general.

These issues tend to impassion me and occasionally my emotions, based in personal experiences, may cloud a discussion about them. Sometimes my blood boils over so much I have to back away.

That's a pretty easy one, since it's well within the bounds of me following the sport (basically, the last 30 years). Louisville, with old mate Rick Pitino managing to somewhat isolate himself from the worst of the fallout.
Listen to a bunch of podcasts about that when the case was being heard, actually. Obviously recruiting players has often involved...well...partying. But literally paying for a madam to be at the recruitment party, with sex on tap? Pretty next level.

Far as I know, they're the only men's basketball team to lose a title. I believe there was a lower-level female team that had the same thing happen, for different reasons. Only reason I ever heard of that one was that it was Randy Moss' daughter involved. Kickbacks from a coach or something...made me wonder why, since surely Randy could afford to pay for whatever. But ex-athletes have tricky relationships with both money and kids oftentimes.

I don't have much passion for anything really these days, but I suspect a change in how we (the less informed at least) view non-human life and as to understanding their existence better (and respecting such) will occur in the next few decades, and with AI probably assisting here (in deciphering their communications). I've always tended to be interested in this subject and this hasn't changed over the years.
